This shoe is beautifully designed! The materials, and color combo are perfect. It is cool to see tiny wire mesh in the ventiation hole rather that just a cheap grommet punched into the shoe. I love the combination of the gray flannel with the black suede, and the black rubber with the little diamond pattern. It is like a formal tennis shoe.
Now the bad news. Converse doesn't make these anymore, and if you wear a size over 11 US mens, you're screwed! I had ordered them from another site that listed that they had 12's in stock, they called me about 5 minutes after placing the order and told me they actually did not have them in stock. (I can see where the confusion set in? In stock, NOT in stock, see how similar that is???)
I asked if they would be getting any more IN stock and was told that they only make a limited number of shoes over size 11. Of course, why would an atheletic/BASKETBALL shoe company make that many large size shoes???! Basketball players are known for their petite feet afterall.
So what I did was took a gamble, ordered the largest size amazon said they had(which I believe was 11) and took the inside padded sole out of it. It fits! it feels a little narrow, like I'm walking a tight rope, but they fit! A small price to pay for being tragically hip!
